We have been running 4.0.1 for a while.
Set up 4.5.0h on a test server to evaluate if it solves some of our 4.0.1 problems. In fact, it seems to have more of it's own - or at least some basic things are preventing us getting very far.
For example, it looks great that we can edit the advanced search form. But in the Studio, I can neither add rows or move fields onto the page layout.
Step by step:
Studio -> Edit a Module -> Accounts -> Edit Layout
Choose Add Rows Button, get an "Any changes will be unsaved" warning ... and I'm sent to a view of the Accounts page with fields and labels showing, the Studio edit options along the top in red plus svae and history buttons... but no indication of how to actually add a row.
Try something different:
Studio -> Edit a Module -> Accounts -> Edit Layout
Let's try and add a custom field (alraedy set up) onto the page.
Click Edit View in red.
The custom field we want is listed on the left.
Click on it, nothing happens
Drag it onto the page layout and nothing appears on the page - but the entry for that field no longer has a box round it in the menu. I can drag and drop it up and down the listing on the side menu, but can't get it on the page.
This seems to be the same in IE and Firefox.
So wassup? Am I being stupid? I see other 4.5.0 studio problems listed here, but they seem to be duplicating probs rather than no-show probs. Is it worth persevering with this? Is 4.5.1 any better? Will Sugar ever be in a stable condition, or will it always be full of unfinished "features"?
Thanks for any light anyone can shed.
Stewart
