4.5.1h deleting dupe emails 'timeout'

Hi,

Centos Linux 4.5, MySql version 5.0.48, SugarCRM 4.5.1h, I don't think this is going to make a difference as to the minor version numbers of either MySql or SugarCRM

I am deleting a bunch of genuine duplicates downloaded to sugarcrm's database by a user who set up their mail to 'leave messages on server' but not 'only import since last check'.

If I select too many dupes at once to delete I am being prompted as to whether I would like to open 'index.php' with a local application or would I like to save it to disk.

I have increased script execution time in php.ini -> no effect.

I have increased Timout in httpd.conf -> no effect.

I haven't studied (or grep'd) the source of the php files for if php instructions for timeout are in play - not that stunningly brilliant at php yet, prefer to be directed there if answer is there.

When I started deleting the dupes I found that I could get it to kill 100 at a time successfully without the crash - it's down to about 45 now and I am still selecting 100 of them and watching it crash out with the offer of a download (empty file if saved) each time.

Please help me, I think I've pushed out a couple of extra grey hairs over this!

hi guys...
maybe u should try to increase the length of the message_id field inside the email table to prevent the duplicate emails.
currently the field is varchar100, but the message_id will always over 100 characters.
make the field length to 255 to prevent it duplicate.

thanks chinwoei, you just explained why some emails are still multiplying after I set the 'not since last import' option correctly.

It's turned a little more bizarre on me, I switched down to 30 entries per for the last duplicate I was killing and it ran smoother without crashing in timeout - the next dupe seemed to 'remove' quicker so I bumped it back up to 100 results per page to kill, it's killing the 100 results without crashing on this duplicate, but it's returning to 'my inbox' instead of the 'all emails' section I've managed to stay in for the last three hours!

Ps. 1 browser tab open on 'all emails' for last three hours except last 5 minutes, other browser tab on admin panel to change num results per refresh/search/action.
