5.0.0b not importing leads

I have successfully uploaded one csv file into the leads database on the new version of CE 5.0.0b. Resulted in about 200 records.

Then I try to upload another csv file of leads and the importing message comes up , but then nothing happens, whether I wait 10 minutes or an hour. It just sits there.

I logged out, stopped all services and then restarted and relogged in, tryed it again. The same result.

any thoughts ?

What's the difference between the working file and the non-working one?

What happens if you try to import only a portion of the non-working file?

Did you have a chance to look into sugarcrm.log?

The two files are both csv files. but they are different in that they have different columns of data. So the mapping is different.


I checked the log files and it shows a SQL error. I assume this is inside the code. how do i investigate / fix this?

Does the second file work if you reduce down to only a few records (under 5)?

If not, can you post those few records? (Change phone #, email, actual names)

Found the problem

If there is an apostrophe in the Account Name it stops the import. i.e. Company/Account name = Hoover's. I changed it to Hoovers and made sure none of the other account names had apostrophe's in them and the import worked.

I also saw that one of the contact names had an apostrophe (O'Charley) and it didn't stop the import.

One last point. I can manually enter a lead with an account name that has an apostrophe (Hoover's) and it works fine.

So, it appears to be something with the import program.

How do I submit this as a bug ?
