Default Ability to import Activites, Tasks, History from Salesforce

I am currently trying to set up SugarCRM as a replacement for Salesforce.com, but need to be able to import our old activities, tasks, and possibly history as well and haven't been able to find any way to do so. Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated!

Hi gfong, this thread has been copied down to the Help forum as it's an interesting topic that I'm sure many others can assist you with. Your original thread remains in the Feature Requests forum as we need to apparently complete the capability more fully.

    Welcome aboard, by the way.

I have imported our complete SalesForce weekly backup to Sugar directly via MSACCESS and mySQL.

I generated a mySQL Database with the SalesForce object definitions which I filled by a MSACCESS Macro importing all object.csv files to the linked mySQL Database.
From the mySQL Database I transferred alle records by a set of sql-scripts to a newly Sugar installation.
This way ist very short and takes only minutes to import MByte of Data.
The documents und attachments can directly be copies to the cache area of Sugar.
A simple and dirty trick is, that the 18 chars long SalesForce IDs can be used in Sugar without any problem even if Sugar itself uses 36 chars long IDs.

    regards
    hk
