Default Account or Contact for B2C???????

I am new to Sugar and I know what I want to accomplish, but I am not sure that this is how sugar works.......Here is what I would like to do.

    1. Leads come in on the Leads Module from a webtolead form

    2. Sales would retrieve the leads and if sold would convert them to ???????? Because it is B2C, I am confused on whether to use ACCOUNT or CONTACTS. I like the way ACCOUNT will give you some sales tracking, but when you CONVERT LEAD it goes to a contact record and asks to associate it with an ACCOUNT which seems as tho it is redundant for a B2C application.

3.I would like to have it so that the origanal sales person remains on the contact, but actually needs to assign it to a person in the fulfillment department....Actually, it would be nice to put it somewhere like a holding bin "Fulfillment" and then someone from fulfillment can put thier name on it and take it out of the holding bin to be worked on. In a nutshell, I need to track the sales person and who the fulfillment person is so that they can be paid their commission.

Thank you in advance for your ideas and direction!

    Deep sigh

B2B or B2C ... it's been a perennial discussion in the forums over the years.

SugarCRM is best at B2B. It's a little contrived to run B2C but you're best to follow the B2B structure. So the account would have the Contact sa the Account name as well as a Contact ... I appreciate that it's a little clunky ... but you'll get the best out of the application if it's run this way.

As far as fulfilment ... set up your fulfilment personnel as COntacts ... create a custom field of type "relate" to module Contact and then when you need to select, select a fulfilment Contact. That way you can maintain the sales and account contacts

thanks for the response....Could you go into more detail on how to create an Account? I am assuming that when you convert it from a lead you just click on the box towards the bottom that will allow you to create an account? Also, how much info do I need in the Account side? Most everything will be in the contact side that I need.

Also, you said to relate a contact? Not sure what you mean there....also, I am using CE version with Teams installed and will have different companies with different fulfillment departments...I assume that using TEAMS wil work the same way....am I correct?

    Thanks a TON
