Account Name selection in Opportunities

Hi all,

Out of the box Sugar OS has a link in the Opportunities module which links an opp to an account name (with a select popup). How can I modify Sugar so that I can link an Opportunity to a Contact name?

I found that SugarCRM is an amazing product, but totally undocumented. How do you suggest someone new to SugarCRM to learn this app quickly? I need to customize Sugar and develop new modules, altough I'm an experienced PHP programmer I cannot simply read every line of SugarCRM code now can I?
