From Accounts Module to Contacts Module

Is there a way i can copy a field from accounts to contacts.

I created a custom field in the accounts module. I imported in all my accounts and then my contacts. Now i have decided that the custom field that i created in accounts is also needed in the contacts module. So i created the custom field in the contacts module. But because i have so many contacts is there any easy way of getting the data from the same field in accounts into the contacts module other that typing each one in individually.
