    Hello,

    I am relatively new to the SugarCRM Community Edition which I have been asked to work on customisation and understanding the MySQL database that SugarCRM uses. I have managed and worked on other CRM packages so I have a reasonable understanding of them as well as reading up on MySQL and PHP.

    Current Server & Software Environment.
    Sugar Community Edition: V 5.2.0j (Build 5804)
    Category: Accounts search view and Custom field Checkboxes
    PHP version: 5.2.5
    MySQL version: 5.0.45
    Apache version: 2.0.59
    IIS Server version & patch level: IIS 5
    OS: Server 2003 R2 SP2

    I have added customised fields in the Accounts records which were to include check boxes for multiple skill sets of our business partners (accounts).

    After the custom field was created I would test it by selecting “marked the box with a checkmark” for the customized checkbox field in the accounts edit view and save the change.
    When I ran a search under the accounts tab for that account, the checkbox wouldn’t show the previously checked item in either in the accounts view or list view when a search was executed.

    In reading the forums I read that there were past reports/bugs related to the checkbox and a recommendation to upgrade to 5.2.0j (Build 5804).

    This upgrade was done as per the documentation released from Sugar and there were no reports/errors during the upgrade.

    After the upgrade to 5.2.0j (Build 5804) there are now two issues:
    Issue 1. The previously mentioned checkboxes changed into drop down menus.
    Issue 2. I can no longer search under the account records tab, a search with no particular criteria selected fails to return any listings, searching a field that I know would return results e.g. by ‘state’ returns no listings.
    When searching under the ‘Contacts’ tab with the same search criteria the contact record returns results and the link to the accounts record brings up the account record for the contact.

    I have run all the repair tools and also attached the diagnostic file.

    Could someone advise how to fix the Accounts search function and the check box issue?

    First rule of SugarCRM and most common error by new users. Here's a golden rule ... if you can't find something using search ... hit the "Clear" button and try again. Sugar remembers your search strings and applies them next time you return to search

    And, yes, we've seen the checkbox issue and it's in the sugarcrm bugtracker. Probably best to delete the field and recreate.

    Hi salesagility,

    Sorry I forgot to mention that I had used the clear button in the search as I had stumbled across it before, so this unfortnuately hasn't resolved the search results under the accounts tab which is the only section which is having problems with the search, opportunities, contacts etc all search and return results.

    From more reading across forums I have found a simlilar circumstance on the following link from another thread http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33592

    The above thread discusses some corruption or changes to a vardef.php file which the resolution was to remove (REM) out particular lines.

    I was hoping from the diagnostics file I sent that someone maybe able to have a look and see whether there is anything I can do from a PHP end.
