Activity start date format

The system date format is set to dd/mm/yyyy.

The start date format for all activities - calls, meetings, etc - in all lists displays as yyyy/mm/dd. This means of course that they are incorrectly sorted. They also all appear in red.

How can I get task start dates to display correctly?
