Add contact select field to task module

For modules such as meetings and calls you can select a contact, account, etc. that is related to the meeting and/or call. I want to be able to do this for tasks, but I cannot figure out how to do this. Preferably there should be a drop-down menu to choose from contact, account, etc. such as in meetings and calls, and then you press the select button to find the exact one. But if anything, I hope to at least have the option of selecting the contact.

Here's a post I just recently made that does something similar for cases. It is a way to add a contact select box to a new case screen to more quickly assign a contact to a case. The general idea looks like it may work for Tasks as well.
