    Default Add contacts to existing campaign

    So I've got email campaigns running and we want to add more contacts to theses campaigns. I wonder if I can get some clarification on sending the emails to these new people. The first set of emails went out perfectly and all looks pretty good. Now when I added more I expected that they would just go out on the next scheduled time. They didn't. So I hit send emails. Yikes, it queued up all of the contacts again.

    Freaked me out so I set the campaign to inactive, went into the outbound email queue management and deleted the old ones. Then I sent them.

    Now, there was one old one left in there and it did go to the suppressed list, presumably because it was a duplicate. Is this what I can expect will happen? That all the old ones will now appear on the suppressed list?

    hi Jerry,

    If your campaign is a regular email campaign, the system will auto suppress any duplicate email addresses from sending out for an email marketing item. This prevents a person from receiving more than one copy of a specific email.

    So in your case, if you just added new contacts to the existing target list and hit the send button for the same email marketing item, then it would appear as though the people who already received the campaign were going to be sent another copy, but the system will know to suppress them.

    If what you have is a newsletter campaign, then you have the ability to set up new email marketing items and send to the same group of people (the system still suppresses duplicate email addresses). However, when you create the new email marketing items, you still need to hit the 'send email' button.
