Add a field made in contacts into leads

I guess this nis a pretty simple question but I can not seem to find the solution so I would really appreciate someones help in this.

I have created a new field in contacts called customer type with a drop down list. I would then like this field to also appear when I am creating a new lead as well, in the same way a say the first names of a new lead creates a new contact and adds in the first name.

Can any one explain how to do this?

PS I am using the 5.2 comunity edition.

This field must be created at both Contacts and Leads module with exactly the same name, type and options (a dropdown one).
Add the field into Contacts and Leads layouts.
When converting a Lead Sugar will automatically render this field at the bottom of Contact panel.

Thnaks for that it worked well. I thought you just created a link.

I also thought that if you created a lead it automatically created a new contact but I now realsize that you have to convert it.
