Hi!
It can be because you use a not standard web browser.
One of our customer used MAC standard browser.
We solve the problem using by Mozila FireFox browser.
So please download ffx and try to search users again.
Hope it will help you!

I am not really familar with the code and with diffcult on debugs this problem. I have setup this in linux and it work.
My guess is that the php complie version with have certain requirment in order to use the add invitees function, such as xmlprc version....
Will it be the reason?
I am having the same problem with nothing happening when clicking the search button in the add invitees section of a call or meeting.
I have tried, IE5 & 7, Firefox, Safari and Opera with the same result; therefore it appears not to be browser specific.
Going through previous posts I have disabled the apache mod_apache but this did not solve the problem
SugarCRM 4.5.1d
Have search the forum and find similar problems happens before.
But it seems to be said fixed on 4.5.1d.
I still cant make this work. Will it be the firewall setting on Mac OS X, or the php5 setting?
Check your site_url in your config.php. If it is not right then the add invitees thing won't work.

If you mean the value of site_url in sugarcrm/config.php mine is correct, I can copy and paste from there into a browser and it takes me straight to sugarcrm correctly.
I have only had this problem since I updated PHP yesterday, currently running php-5.2.2 so I think that may well be the issue... I've just updated to the latest version of sugarcrm and still have a non functioning search button. Any ideas?
Rolled back to php-5.1.6 which has fixed it - looks like a surgarcrm issue rather than my install...
