Exclamation Add New Module Not Working

    Hello,

    Sugar Version = 5.0.0e
    Sugar Edition = Community
Category = Module Builder / Studio
    Operating System = Linux
    PHP Version = 5
    Database = MySQL
    Web Server = Apache/1.3.37

After a clean install of 5.0.0e I cannot get the New Module to work after creating a package.

It says loading and then nothing.
Have scanned the forums for help

Is there a known bug, is there a fix, can somebody help ?

OK, this is the second time I have asked a question on the forums as well as spending a lot of time searching through the forums and reading the wiki.

All problems with this module seem to be associated with earlier version and all the fixes I have found have been implemented in release 5.0.0e CE. I don't seem to be able to find anybody else with the same problem.

Does anybody know if there is a known problem with this module on the latest release of the CE release 5.0.0e ?

Hi , im not exactly sure about your problem, but your more likely to get help if you post information about your systems environment. Like OS, DB , Web server , and Sugar version

Wink Re: Add New Module Not Working

    Hello nvdp2002,

    Thank for the response.

I'm on Linux (Apache/1.3.37) with PHP5, MySQL using sugar 5.0.0e.

It looks like a Javascript problem though ?

    Sugar Version = 5.0.0e
    Sugar Edition = Community
Category = Module Builder / Studio
    Operating System = Linux
    PHP Version = 5
    Database = MySQL
    Web Server = Apache/1.3.37

    Steps to reproduce

    1. I create a package
    2. I then click Add New Module

    Error message or issue presented

It says loading at top of screen, then Done and nothing happens - no module editor/utility loads

    Any advice ?

Unhappy Re: Add New Module Not Working - also 5.1RC1

OK, I just upgraded to 5.1.0RC1 (Build 4469) and still have the same problem.

This seems to be bug in release 5 (install from clean) which nobody else seems to be seeing and I am not getting a lot of response from anybody on this (probably my fault)

What do I need to do to get some feedback on this ?

Not sure whether I should continue with Sugar CRM as I can't get past this fist step.

Any advice on how to get moving on this would be really appreciated - whether its a lack of information on my side or something else.

    Nic

Thumbs down Re: Add New Module Not Working

Ok, last attempt - I don't seem to be getting much response from the community here on this simple problem and I cannot continue with Sugar CRM if I cant add custom fields.

Can anybody tell me or advise me what I need to do to resolve this problem ?
Does the add new module work for everybody else but just not me ? Is this a CE problem only or problem with both CE and commercial licenses ?
Is there another relatively simply way to add custom fields - or is it code hacking only ?

I've read through the forum and looked at previous fixes but cannot find one for release 5 as all the others have been previously implemented.

Is there an active open community here or should I be looking at a real open source package like Vt^ger (had to write it like this because its a band word on this forum....not very community like....maybe I'm getting the real picture here!!) ?

    Hi nisiwi,

I guess the Custom directory of Sugar does not have write access by webserver.

try changing your <Sugar_root/custom> directory access ..

that is if your webserver is running on www-data user check whether the webserver have permissions to read / write on to it

    Thanks,
    Vasi.

    Hi nisiwi,
forgive me if my questions sound stupid, but since your screenshot looks fine...
What do you do after creating your package?
    Do you click 'New Module'?
After this, do you select the type icon (basic, company, issue, person) and specify 'Module Name' and 'Label' and click 'Save'?
At the end, do you click 'Save and Deploy'?
What do you think the cookie monster eats ?

Looking more accurately at your screenshot I guess it's there that it stops...
I think your problem might be in the Assistant Window: close it and try the 'New Module' button.

    thank you for responding

    vasi2me

I am on phpsuexec and most things controlled by php.ini which is set correctly
I had no installation errors and all directories have necessary privileges confirmed during install and backend

    DragonflyMaster

It stops in its tracks no matter which method I use, the button or from the assistant window
