Default Adding ACT notes into Sugar

    Hi there,

I'm currently *enjoying* trying to get our act data into sugar. Its not going too badly, but i have used pointers from here:

    http://www.sugarcrm.com/wiki/index.p...mporting_Notes

to get where i am and its almost there

Now, I have my account id's matched up to my notes so when i import notes i can match to the account in question. All looks good, my data looks like:

When i import the data I get a message:

    Success:
    124 Successfully Imported
594 Records skipped because the id's either existed or were longer than 36 characters
0 Records skipped because they were missing one or more required fields

So it seems that as soon as the import script finds it is to import a line with an account id its already imported it sees it as a duplicate? Which seems bizarre because accounts would obviously have multiple note entries...?

Could anyone help out here. Is the best way forward to work on the dbase directly, or can I tweak the way this is imported so it will work?

    Kind regards, Steve.

It seems as if you have duplicates in your notes.id column.

You can have duplicates in the parent_id (this would be the place to reference the account that the note is associated with). Notes.ID should represent a unique value for each individual note. You will have to generate this unique id, preferably up to 36 characters.

    Hi Vavalos,

Thanks for your reply - turns out I was allocating the account name to the field 'name' and this was populating the id field which is unique...

    Have now imported OK.

    Thanks, Steve
