Question adding a custom field that displays time of day

    Hello,

This is for version 4.1 on Windows 2003 server.

I'm lookig to add a custom field in my Cases view. This is what we're going to use for tech-support. I'm looking for a field to display time in that A) what time a call was initiated and B) what time the call ended. When adding a custom field, you can label the "data type" as text, option such as "drop down, text, interger, decimal, check box, email, date etc.

Is there a way to create one that shows time? In my perfect world there'd be two or three little drop downs, Hour, Minute, am/pm. I'd like to see this for the call start and end time. then....tie in a report that can show me how much time is being spent on say a particular account/customer.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Paul

    Hello Paul,

I'm also looking at the same feature. Did you, or someone else, have found a solution for this enhancement ?

    Regards.

    Damien,

I haven't quite found the answer i'm looking for, but here's my temporary solution:

you can add a custom field that puts a time stamp to the new field - "Date last modified" since that automatically populates, I've made a new field - "time call ended," where my tech support can put in the time. With that i'd like to get to the point where I can create a report showing the total time tech support has spent on the phone with each customer.

The other temporay solution that you can use in conjunction to, or seperately, is a drop down with about 8 fields asking to show "call duration." I have it set up to be 1-5 min, 5-10 min, 10-20 etc.

This probably doesn't actually help you, but I thought I'd share my current thoughts

    Paul
