Adding a document from server

I have a PDF that is automatically created on the server when a user hits save in the quote module.
A relationship between the quotes and the documents module has been setup.
I would like to automatically add this PDF into the documents module. With each save it would also create a new version.
Is this possible? If so how?

Hi Tom

I believe you had setup a script which generate the pdf when the user click on "Save" button.
So you need to:
Create a document version record;
Create a document record and setup the document file into it;
Save the pdf file (the document file) into cache/upload/ folder whose name is the id of the document.

That is it.
