    Default Adding new account

    Hi all,

I am a newbie to SugarCRM. I have installed it and am in the process of adding my first account. It seems to be fine, ie, saves ok, until I get the to the Email Address(es) section. When I enter the user's email address it simply comes up with 'undefined' to the right of the 'Invalid' checkbox and I am unable to save. So I have two questions:

    1. What do 'Opted Out'and 'Invalid' mean?
    2. What do I do about the 'undefined' error as the email address I'm entering is correct?

    SugarCRM 5.1
    Apache version 1.3.41 (Unix)
    PHP version 5.2.5
    MySQL version 5.0.45-community

    Any assistance appreciated

    cheers,
    Andy

In Sugar Community Edition User Guide
    you can find the following:

Email Address(es): Enter an Emails address for the contact and select Primary. If an Email address is incorrect, select Invalid to indicate it. If you sent out campaign Emails this contact and the individual chose to opt-out of receiving them, select Opted Out.

I am adding the first new account so I don't want to select Opted Out or Invalid at this stage. The funny thing is that I am able to save the entry at all times until I enter an email address then pressing the "save" button does nothing. If I remove the email address I can save it again. And the word "undefined" only occurs when I first enter the email addy. If I remove the address the work undefined disappears and doesn't come back until I save and come back into the entry. Is there some hardcore email validation going on? I know it's a valid email address.

Ok here's some more info. I think there is a bug in the crm code. In FF3 if I hover over the Save button it says (Alt+S) - when I try that it simply toggles between the top and bottom Save buttons but doesn't do the actual Save. In IE7 pressing the Save button also doesn't work if an email address is entered but Alt+S does Save.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Just to clarify, this bug is in the Employees module. If you try and add a new employee, it fails to allow you to press submit when you enter an email address. I think that adding a new user and adding a new employee are confusing subtle differences. This is certainly a bug.

Is there a working bug tracker around here. Or is this yet another CLOSED development, open source project?

The font size in the wysiwyg editor is so tiny I can barely see it. What's up with that? Would be cool to fix even basic user interface issues on the site, so as to encourage people to participate.

I have the same problem here and I don't know what's happen. But looking the forum I find something that can help us before a patch: if you write the email address in the edit window, use the Save and Continue button. This button is working.
