adding new fields 4.5c

Hi,

I wanted to add two new fields to the leads layout.
1. middle name - text box with a label
2. residential status - dropdown menu

i went through all the posts about them but didnt get a clear picture how to do this. yet. maybe cos i'm new to PHP .. i guess theres a way of doing it manually..please can anyone show me which files and which code parts corresponds to this so that i can get a good idea.

also if i make them in the editview for example table on DB will be updated?..and will they reflect in say reports that i make with the data?

Hi Justin,

The easiest way to do this is via the Studio component in Sugar. Here you can add, modify of delete fields, create new drop down listboxes, rename fields etc. without writing a line of code.

These changes are usualy safe from new releases.

Thanks for reply. but will the new field data that i add be written to the table and can i get them into reports if needed in future.
