    Arrow Admin Error

    Hi,

I have just installed Sugar Suite v4.2.0d open source but whenever i make any changes to the Admin > System Settings and hit save it doesnt apply my changes? I have double checked that all the correct file permissions (777) are set in the ftp.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I even tried re-installing which didnt fix it.

    Thanks in advance,
    Brad.

Check the owner and permissions on files called "config_override.php" and "config.php" in your root directory. Also read through this to see what your permissions should REALLY be (NEVER USE 777).

The config_override.php file is optional, and it's not respected by all of the entry point scripts so you probably shouldn't use one anyway.

Did you check the ownership of that file is correct? It needs to be writeable by the webserver user specifically, which may be wwwrun, apache, or just about anything really. Actually that guide recommends manually adjusting the user your webserver runs as, so that you know for sure. If it's not your server you may not be able to do that.

Isn't config.override created by the program if you change the settings in the admin panel? I thought it was.

Yes, it looks like it is. But that file is still ignored by all but index.php (meaning json_server.php, soap_server.php, leadCapture.php for instance). I'd call that a bug, although it's not very relevant to bcarr's issue.
