All phone numbers gone in DetailView

The phone numbers in DetailView for accounts, contacts, leads, etc are just....gone. I made a change to function.sugar_phone to allow SIP, and this was working fine for months. I did a quick repair (no problems, all vardefs up to date), and now all the phone fields in any DetailView are blank.Office Phone, Fax, Other Phone.....all show blank. In EditView these are fine. They show properly, can be changed, updated, etc. But, DetailView refuses to show them.

I removed the code from function.sugar_phone, and repaired again: no change

Removed all files from templates_c and cache: no change

I am at a total loss where this problem is. I have been searching various files for about an hour, and the [value] for the $params spit into the sugar_phone function are likewise blank, so there is something that screwed up a file or setting somewhere that the data for DetailView is not being pulled at all.

Any ideas? I'm sure the changes to be made are fairly simple and will be the same for every module, so I can concentrate on Accounts for now.
