Annual contract renewals - Sugar Community Version

Hi,

We currently use the 'community' version of sugar CRM which is great. We're a small business but have many loyal customers. We're looking of ways to manage our annual contracts we sell to customers. Does anybody know if this is possible with sugar CRM Community edition?

Expiraton

Hi Pete,

Here is what we would do, based on our experience with similar projects:

1. Upgrade to SugarCRM 5.1 CE - the improvements to the Studio and Module Builder are worth the upgrade.

2. Use Module Builder to create a Contracts module. The fields and relationships depend need to specified completely, but the handful you mentioned are standard field types.

3. Use custom logic hooks and CRON jobs to create the reminders/alarms, expiration logic and scheduling.

All of that might take as little as a few days or as long as a couple of weeks.
