    Default Archived emails not appearing

    I'm running the CE edition of sugar version 5.2.0f and am trialling the Grinmark and Sugars own outlook plugin on two different machines. When we try and archive an email from a users Outlook 2003 inbox it says it has archived the email under the correct contact but it does not appear. My understanding is that any archived emails should appear under the History section but this is completely empty. It does not appear anywhere.

    We do not use the email ability within sugarcrm and have hidden the tab but I don't believe this has to be visible for email archiving from Outlook to work.

    Can anyone help please?

    Hi Andy,

    archived emails are still considered emails, so if you turn off the emails module, then you will not be able to see the archived emails in the system

    Thanks.

    I haven't actually turned off the email module I've just hidden the tab. I have configured the settings for email. I have enabled the tab and still have the same problem.

    Is there anything I should be looking for in the settings?

    I honestly don't know it just started working. Must have been a gremlin of some kind

    I was having the same difficulty and I fixed/figured it out. I had hidden the email tab system wide in the Configure Tabs section of the developer tools section of the admin panel. when i unhid (sp) the email tab all the emails i had archived during my testing period show up in the history section of the appropriate contact. Phew - I was going a little crazy but persistence rules!

    Your post was the answer to three hours of frustration for me!!

    I tried what you suggested and there they were, my emails all where they were supposed to be. I was worried that I had misunderstood the capabilities of my new Opascus SugaCRMr to Thunderbird software, but it DOES work as intended and very well at that.

    Thank goodness for Sugar forums!

    I have the same issue, however I have not hidden the Email tab.

    Initially when I archived the email, it did show in the Recent Contacts Emails sub-panel of the Account section, but not in the History sub-panel.

    After manually setting the "Related To" field in the email to Account, it started showing in the Account History subpanel.

    I then set the "Related To" field back to a Contact (connected to the Account). Now the email doesn't appear in the Recent Contacts Emails nor the History sub-panels of the Account Section. However, it does appear in the History subpanel of the Contact section.

    Any ideas? I've seen multiple posts on this problem, but this was the only thread that ever suggested a solution. Unfortunately the solution doesn't apply to me.

    Hi there,

    I'm having the same issue, but have not hidden the Email tab.

    When I first archived the email (from Outlook) it showed up in the Related Contacts' Emails subpanel in the Account section, but not the History Subpanel.

    After I manually edited the email and changed the Related To field to the Account, it showed up in the History subpanel only.

    When I changed the Related To field back to a Contact, it disappeared from all subpanels in the Account section and now only shows up in the History list in the Contact section

    Any help will be much appreciated.
