Assign cases to multiple users

When assigning a case to another user, the user will receive an email mentioning the case was assigned to them.
I would like to be able to either copy several users when assigning the case so that they get an email with the updates that just been made on the case, or have the ability to assign the case to multiple users at the same time.

To overcome this, I either manually send an email to those concerned, or assign the case to each person, one at the time, so they get the email with the updates.

Anyone knows a quicker way of doing this. I don't mind doing a little php editing.

You might want to take a look at the logic hooks functionality. It will allow you to execute your own custom code based on records being saved amongst other options.

You might be able to leverage that functionality to run your own code that in turn does the e-mailing.

Another option worth looking at is the TeamOS module which allows you to assign records to a grouping of users. However, I don't know off the top of my head if it applies to Cases as well or if it ties into the notification system.
