Default Assign to more than one person?

I would like to have the ability to assign tasks to more than one person. Allow them both to create updates, etc. Is there any way to do this?

    Hi OperaMom,

Tasks are assigned to one user only at a time. If you want to assign a single task to two/more users then you can break the tasks into small sections and assign them to different users. This way it will be easy for admin to see the individual tasks if the user edits/updates that task.

The either way is to duplicate that task and then edit and assign it to another user. Here the edits/updates that the assigned user makes in the tasks will be reflected to that duplicate instance of task only. Again admin will have a lot of duplicate instances of a single task.

BTW, users can see and edit the tasks whether it is assigned or not assigned to that particular user.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

Question Re: Assign to more than one person?

Thank you. I appreciate your assistance!

Another thing I wish was possible would be to assign people to more than one account at a time. I'm not using my system for a traditional purpose. I run an opera company, and we often have people that work with us from project to project and I'd like a way to keep track of that. Any ideas?

    Laura,

Are you talking about Contacts related to any particular Account? If that's what you want, it's not that hard. Once you have created Account then you can assign/relate contacts to them. You can also relate different accounts if they are the member of the organizations or inter-related.

BTW, which version of SugarCRM you are working on? If you want any customization then do let me know.

Looking forward to demonstrate our capabilities.

    Regards,

    HI,
I was trying to achieve the same thing with the "Member of" field.
I wanted to make an account a member of multible other accounts like you want to add multiple users to it.

Search this forums for "Teams OS" and you will find an addon for organizing your coworkers into teams and assign your tasks to this teams.
Sugar Professional contains this Teams-feature out-of-the-box.

    Hi PaikMoses,
    Thank you for your assistance.

I'm using the Open Source version of Sugar and am mostly loving it. I would be interested in some customizations however. the immediate issue I'm having I probably should post a separate item on though...I'm trying to add some custom fields to the contact pages, related to costume sizes, etc. I had no trouble creating the fields themselves, but I seem unable to actually ADD those fields or a new section on the page, to PUT those new fields into. When I try to drag the new fields anywhere on the existing page, they won't insert anywhere unless I click on an existing item. Does that make any sense? In any case, I need to get this figured out asap for my costumer since she's got a very limited amount of time in which to get costumes taken care of...

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    ~Laura
