Default Assign a new case to a Contact not an Account

    Hi all,

I have seen a few posts about this, but none seem to really answer the issue. I am an experienced Salesforce user and as a result feel quite comfortable using SugarCRM, but there are some very strange differences. The main being that when you create a new case, either from the cases tab, or from the contact page, you need the case assigned to the contact, and when you send an email from the case, the email address used should be the contacts email. Assigning to an account does not seem logical, as a company does not log a case, an individual person within that company does.

So what we need answering is:

    1) Has anyone successfully adapted the case creation page to allow association with a contact rather than a case?

    2) If yes, does the email address also get carried through to the case page when you choose to send email? and if no, is this something that Sugar can advise on or implement (in SugarOS)

    Thanks

    Andy

Can I take this as an indication of the level of support the Open Source version gets? Only 15 views and no replies? Quite worrying, better hope the program has no real problems!
