Assign to: Is there a problem with this?

Will this cause any problems with Sugar functioning in any way?
Will each assigned user be able to view accounts in their "My Accounts" dashlet?

I'm using 5.2c
In Accounts there is the default field Assigned To:
Field Name: assigned_to_name
Display Name: Assigned To
System Label: LBL_ASSIGNED_TO_NAME

II create a new field named Also Assigned To, but use the same System Label
Field Name: also_assigned_to
Display Name: Also Assigned To
System Label: LBL_ASSIGNED_TO_NAME

Would I be able to use both fields at the same time, and populate different Users?
Would it cause a problem with Sugar functioning?
Would both Users see the same account in each of their "My Accounts" Dashlet?

You can create both fields and continue to use the system as originally designed without problem.

However, the fact it is called "assigned to" does not automatically make it inherit the security features of the built-in "assigned to" field. You'd need to dig into the SugarBean.php to an extent to get it to behave like the built-in field.

You may want to take a look at the security suite module. It might address your needs.

I was under the understanding that CE Teams was like Security Suite. Do you know if this is true?
CE Teams creates teams but that is too broad for what I need because there can be so many variations of 2 people on each account.

I'm trying to find an upgrade safe way to accomplish this simple thing.

I know exactly what you mean. I did something like this for someone some months back and couldn't find a way around not modifying the SugarBean.php because of the security restrictions that were required.

Fortunately, the modifications are minor, but nevertheless, it would be nicer to be able to do it in an upgrade safe manner.
