Default Assigning leads to team members

Each time I try to assign a lead to a team member it gives me the option of selecting a team member from the list, I select the particular team member, save the lead. Then I go back in to edit the lead and the assign to field is blank. It is not saving the team member that the lead is assigned to. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Perhaps the best place to start would be to enable debug logging to try to get some further clues.

Debug logging can be enabled via the System Settings option in the Admin control panel. Once you've enabled it, run through the process you describe until the problem occurs once again. Check your sugarcrm.log file afterwards to see what clues it may yield. i.e. SQL error messages, etc.

Thank you Angel for that advise. I am very new to Sugar so would you please be able to explain where I find the sugarcrm.log file? I have followed all the other instructions.
    Thank you.

The logs are in your servers root SugarCRM directory and named sugarcrm.log, sugarcrm.log.1, sugarcrm.log.2, sugarcrm.log.3, sugarcrm.log.4, and sugarcrm.log.5. The most recent log is sugarcrm.log. The others are old logs, so for checking the most recent activity just stick with sugarcrm.log.
