Attach Account to a Lead

Hello All,

I am trying to make an Affiliate Software integrate with Sugar. I decided to setup Sugar so 'affiliates' are 'accounts'. When a lead comes in, I need to be able to attach an account to it right away, so that when the lead is converted, the account is automatically linked to the new customer.

Since there are commissions involved, we cannot have our sales users converting lead being able to edit the account it is associated to, and or make the the mistake to choose the wrong "Account".

I tried to create custom fields in the Leads modules for Account Name, use the same field name as the Accounts module, but nothing is working....

Anyone has an idea of how to do this? Thanks a bunch for any pointers!!!

Bty, I know this question has been asked a gazillion time on this forum, but the answer is still nowhere to be found... Is this a pro functionality?

Okay, I am one step ahead. I created a one to one relationship leads to accounts using Studio. Now I can link an account to lead.

The problem is that when converting, it still asks me to choose or create an account. It does not keep the account name that was there...

What a pain in the rear....

Leads already has the field account_id in its table. You just need to add a relate field in order to properly render it and select an Account.
