attach documents to the leads, opportunities

Hi,
I am only getting started with Sugar- thus using the latest version of sugar C.E (5.2).

Is it possible to attach documents to the leads, opportunities etc, was expecting an attach button and browse to find the doc. Ideally I am trying to automatically create a predefined pdf-file attached it to the lead / opportunity and mail it to the lead email address! I also want the option to attach docs manually to various record types, also if I attach a doc to a lead does it stay attached to the converted opportunity?

Any help or direction to relevant forum or docs much appreciated.

Hello Linnane,

you can attach documents to Leads/Contacts/Account/Opportunities using the Notes feature. Within the record, scroll down to the History panel and click 'Create note or attachment'. You will see a button where you can browse and attach a document.

When you convert a lead into an Account/Contact, the notes should transfer over to the newly created account/contact

If you are sending an email from Sugar, then there is also a browse button where you can send an attachment
