Default Auto import of recieved emails

When an email is recieved into sugarcrm inbox, it's automatically assigned to the account or contact, that has such an email address. Do you know if there is already such functionality in any of SugarCRM versions?
Manually importing/assigning each recieved email ito a related account or contact not a solution for us.

    Thank you.

I believe it could be done with a Custom Logic Hook and the SugarCRM CE. Jeff

Unhappy Re: Auto import of recieved emails

    Hi,

This is the only thing preventing us from ditching RT and moving all our customer support over to SugarCRM. I've been trialling SugarCRM in customer support.

It is nice how the email history is attached to each Contact and Account, and I've imported all of the company specifics into custom modules, so it is all in one place.

However, when doing email support they are balking (and quite rightly so) at having to do a search for the Contact for every email that they look at in order to see the history with that Contact.

It really oughtn't to be that hard to add the correct relationships between the email and the Contact and Account via the email_address. And from my research it looks like SugarCRM used to do it.

They key thing here is whether this is considered a bug? In which case it will presumably be fixed in an upcoming release. Or whether it is a feature, in which case it is worth spending sime time learning PHP and rolling my own solution.

    Cheers, Ed.
