    Default Auto Populate?

    Hi All,

I'm new to Sugar and looking for some help. My question is how to get things to auto-populate (i.e., city and state from zip code). I have other fields that I would also like to auto-populate as well. Any info that any of you could offer would be quite welcome as I have Googled my butt off trying to find some documentation or code to do this.

    Thank You,

    MadDog (SugarNoob)

This can be done with a Javascript.
If you download and examine the Quotes module from OpenSales for SugarCRM modules you can find a quote.js file that handles functions like copy billing information over to shilling information.

    Good luck.

That's a very ungracious reaction to someone who was trying to help you and is unlikely to make others jump to assist.

Sorry, didn't mean to seem ungrateful, but I didn't think that the reply was really that useful. The examination of JS in modules doesn't really provide an answer to the question. Once again I apologize.

This is a custom development question so the answer that was provided as a fairly good one as a starting point. Unfortunately, this cannot be done without either personally doing custom development or hiring someone else to do the development for you. Unless anyone knows of a module available on SugarForge that does something similar?

Like "salesagility" mentioned I was not reluctant to reply, but as I´m often eager to help people out I would also like to point out the module Enhanced Studio (Google it).

Like "eggsurplus" said, this is something that does require coding knowledge to do (and the post owner did not mention he wanted to avoid) but with the Enhanced Studio module this might make the task that much easier. But the time you will spend figuring this out might be better preserved by hiring a freelancer to do this for you.

We had developed a package for this specific needs. The current package does that for Brazilian Street Address, but it can be modified for US Street Address.

    Fell free for contacting us.

    Thumbs up Re: Auto Populate?

Thank you all for the info. I guess more investigation will be needed.
