Autocomplete not working in edit pages

Auto complete is working in most if not all of the search fields but I cannot get it to work on the edit or create pages. How do I get it on these pages?
Sugar 6.2.1 Community Edition
PHP 5.2.17

Once I have this problem and I had to create a relationship instead of just a related field, then it starts to work.

I would rather not do that as it would destroy a lot of data
