Hello,
I would like to know if SugarCRM has the ability to import data automatically either from a local database or from an external source.
To give you some background info:
We want some of our partners to pass us data in the form of a data feed. Lets assume that the data comes in the form of a live data feed that is stored in our SQL Database. We want SugarCRM to be able to pull all records that were created and/or updated as a result of the received data feed.
For example at 6:00 PM Company XYZ appears never to have placed an order with us. XYZ company appears in our records and on SugarCRM as a lead but with no purchases.
At 6:10 PM Company XYZ placed an order through our partner's site. An automated data feed leaves and gets imported on the database.
At 6:11 PM when staff login and lookup Company XYZ on SugarCRM. Sugar has updated the appropraite fields/records as a result of the data feed received and XYZ appears as a client that has placed an order with us, etc.
Meaning that all data is kept up to date and at the same time the process is automated rather than having staff import manually the latest data feed received.
I understand that custom coding will be required, however my intention is to find out if it is possible and if it is a simple process that a developer can deliver with no problems.
