Default Automating follow up and other matters

    Hello,

I'm very new to Sugar. This is our second week with the application. I enjoy a number of the features, but I'm finding myself searching for some things that I would have assumed would be bundled. For example. I have a process for certain prospects, in which, when they send in a type of request, the user validates the requestor, and then sends out a response based on an email template. As the email template is being sent, I want the process to then either automatically set a follow up event, or to at least pop up a calendar to set this follow up task. This is basic stuff that I was doing in ACT 4-5 years ago.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks
    Jon

    Hi Jon,

In Sugar Pro, you use Admin > Workflow to automate the sending of messages and creation of follow up records. Workflow is a Pro feature not available in CE.

In CE, you can create Logic Hooks for automation. A logic hook is code, structured as required by Sugar, to execute at a certain moment (e.g. after a record is saved).

Feel free to ping me on Skype (dtokeefe) to discuss your project. We are SugarCRM Gold Partner.

    Best regards,

    David
