Hello everyone,
while implementing SugarCRM (CE Version 5.0.0f (Build 3338)) I came across a quite
fundamental problem and found (apart from other information) this thread
http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showt...8&page=1&pp=10
originally started on 07-11-2005. After having read the whole thing I'm left quite
clueless. However back to my question ...
Scenario:
Implementing SugarCRM for a company (main company/business name) which is active in several
(and different) areas of business all having to do with IT. Those areas of business are mobile
messaging (B2B and B2C, two different business names do exist), hardware/network installation/configuration
(another business name) and several internet portals are run (banners ads and stuff -> B2B, domain
name = business name).
Does it make sense/is it feasible to force/shape all these business areas in/with one installation?
Ideas:
Of course I did some googleing (a hell of a word - sorry I'm German ;-) before and found some ideas. Most
opinions were one should create a fake-account (fake organization) for every business name to which we
can then assign the contact (consumer -> B2C, employee -> B2B). So far so good ... Unfortunately, I have to
assign a customer code/id to accounts (real B2B, but not to fake-accounts of the B2C problem solution)
and to customers (B2C contacts).
I know that this proposed solution is doable, but since I lack SugarCRM experience I have some doubts and am
really curious if there is some sort of best practice for this solving his problem.
Thanks in advance for any helpful comment.
PS Sorry for my bad English folks. If you intend to bash SugarCRM in any way - save yourself and me some time
and do not reply![]()
