Backing up my SugarCRM Data files

Operating system type and version - Windows XP Pro (2002) SP3 fully patched
SugarCRM Community Edition - Version 5.1.0b (Build 4905)
Webserver type and version - Apache, but cannot find the version number.
PHP - but cannot find the version number.
MySQL server - but cannot find the version number.

Hi, Have been investigating SugarCRM for about two months and have started to enter real data. I want to make sure that I have backups of all of the data that I am keying into it in case of a need to restore.

I have found the built in method to back up the config files and the reference to backing up the MySQL files using other tools.

Looking through Google/this forum search results, I think they tell me that I am missing some programs to accomplish this. I a not able to find mysqldump, myphpadmin or any other program that I think I need to use to make a data back up. I have made a copy of the SugarCRM directories etc onto a CDROM, but I know that there may well be some issues with this method if I ever need to restore?

I may have missed some technical point here or may not have read the right manual, so any help/suggestions on how to accomplish this would be great.

It's "phpMyAdmin", not myphpadmin.

Another tools I use is phpMyBackupPro.

Story. I'm working on laptop and all the data is also on a laptop. One day I got virus.
So I archived sugar folder using WinRAR. Then using phpMyAdmin I backuped sugar database.
Then copied these archives to CD.
Then I formatted my logic disk, installed clean Windows XP, arrange webserver and then restored sugar instance by unpacking files archive and importing back db data using phpmyadmin.

Many thanks for your posts, but I am still no closer to getting my data backed up. Configuration back up if fine.

I have not used phpmyadmin/mysql before and simply did a default install of the SugarCRM community edition and accepted all the defaults which seemed to be fine for what I wanted.

So when I have gone into start phpmyadmin (using some other info from this post - (http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24641). I get a prompt for a login, I have tried admin with my sugar password - I used the same password each time I was asked during the SugarCRM install, but that will not let me in.

Any more suggestions to help me out with the backups of my data files would be great. Perhaps I am too naive and should have stayed with foxpro or access!!!!

I'm having the same issue with phpmyadmin as well. i know what i put in for the password and login and for some reason, i'm being denied entry. any help?
