    Default Backup / Restore Help?

Can someone help me with this please?

I have set up a blank environment that I need to migrate an old system over to for testing. I have many custom fields, and no modules loaded. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to move the data, and the forms from the existing system over. Ultimately, I want to use this system to test the upgrade from 4.2.1d to 4.5.0f. But at the moment, I have nothing in the new install of 4.2.1d, other than the base forms, and fields....none of the data that is in my current production environment.

Can someone please point me to the document, or be kind enough to explain what it is that I need to do. I have backed up everything...I have tried to migrate the custom fields to the new system, but I see no change in the forms or views. Additonally, I am not sure what to do with the Sugar Backups that have been made in this environment?

I am really stuck. Please help.

    Hi,

If you are just looking at creating a clone of your current production system, then the easiest way is to copy the whole Sugar directory to your new system. Then use a tool like phpMyAdmin to export the database content of the whole system. Then reimport this database file into your new system using phpMyAdmin again.

Modify the system name and sugar instance name in config.php if necessary, et Voila!

    Hope this helps!

I really don't care what the name is of the one on my "test" system. When you say change the names? Is that something that I need to chage in a particular config file? Or simply repoint the URL that I am pointing at? I am trying to use the same default sugarcrm database and users.

    I really appreciate your help.

    Thank you again in advance.
