Blank accounts, repair in admin not working, e-mailmodule blank

Hi, I've got some problems with sugarCRM Version 5.0.0g (Build 3391). Some of our accounts are just shown as a blank pages (as in all white, no HTML-source, nothing). We got a similar problem with the e-mail module (menu from Sugar is there, but the area where the content usually is is just white space). I've tried to use the repairtools in the adminarea, but they won't work.

Any ideas?

Consider upgrading your php to 5.2 version.
Additionally you could upgrade the mysql too.

Thanks for the reply, I tried upgrading to PHP 5.2.6, but nothing changes. SugarCRM is still producing the same errors.

Some more info on what happens when I try the repairtools.
Quick Repair and Rebuild - Just takes me to a page that has the header and shortcuts.
Repair Database - Takes me to a page similar to Quick Repair but with this content:

Repair Database
Processing database and vardef comparison...

And then nothing more happens.
Clear Template Cache - Same as Quick Repair
Clear Chart Data Cache - Seems to work.
Clear Vardefs Data Cache - Same as Quick Repair

Set display_errors ON in your php.ini file and check for any errors in the detailview. Set the log level to debug and check your log file for any errors.

These errors are frequent all the way back to august 7th 2008. I don't know if this could be related to any of the errors that occur? First time I noticed something was off with our installation was sometime in November I think. Could have been something wrong before that though.

I'm currently waiting for my host to set the logging to debug. I'll get back to you with more information when it's activated.

You can change the log level by modifying log4php.properties file in the root of sugar. You just need to uncomment the below line.

log4php.rootLogger=debug, A2

If I use another installation which is set up to use the same database I can access the account and even the e-mail module will work. I don't want to try to use the repair tools in this other installation though, I'm thinking that might do more harm than good.

There are some differences in these two installs though, the one that doesn't work has some changes in some of the modules, but I don't think that's the issue since most of the accounts will show. Also, it's possible for me to edit the accounts and after I press save the account is visible like normal, but when I search for it again or try to access the account through a relation link it shows a blank page again.

It seems there is no errors in the log files. Delete all the files in cache/modules/Accounts and check. Lets give a final try

Hello,

I'm having the same problem. But with Projects module when I view a project record the entire screen goes blank. I've noticed that I've also lost all the subpanels to most modules relationships (e.g. If i'm in an Account module - I can't see any subpanels or relationships to it - like Contacts - but if I'm in Activity I can see Email, Contact subpanels)

So I'm thinking that something has happened to the relationships with Projects and Accounts.

Also when in the Admin screen - I found small bugs on the display page almost like an Array missing brackets - so I think something is wrong with the Administrator module as well.

I've set my logger to debug and trying to debug through all the logs. I had a look at cache/modules/Projects (since my Project screen is coming up blank) but only have a language folder but no files in it.

All fixed. There was an invalid character in the Project vardefs.php in the quotes array when building that relationship. Not sure if Sugar did it while trying to rebuild or if it was user error by another developer. We're rethinking the way we are developing here on and setting up a better development environment after 8 hours of wasted debugging to try fix this error that never existed.

Best tip IMO is to keep php.ini dispay errors on incase your editing anything in Sugar and Sugar doesn't catch the exceptions.

I tried this, but that did not create a desired result (the accounts wouldn't work at all after doing this). But I've come a bit further after deleting all the cachefiles in cache/smarty/template_c/ and then I turned on Display track trace of errors and Developer Mode in the System Settings. Now I get alot of lines with errormessages when trying to access an account.

The accounts which were displayed as blank pages earlier now displays the account-card, but no relations. I can now also use the Repair and Rebuild tools, but most of them stop midways.

I must truly admit that I don't know much PHP at all. I don't know if my problem is the same as JoeyDaly's, but they sound pretty similar.
