Blank Page on the third step of upgrade wizard

Hi,

I have being upgrading Sugar Community Edition from 3.0c to 5.0.0i . The upgradation I have done is as follows

Version 3.0c to 3.0.1b
Version 3.0.1b to 3.5.1
Version 3.5.1 to 4.0.1
Version 4.0.1 to 4.2.1l
System Specifications for all the above upgrades is
Operating System: Window 2003 Server
PHP Version: 4.4
MySQL Version: 4.1.13-nt
Web Server: IIS 6.0
Sugar Edition: Community Edition

When I started to upgrade from 4.2.1l to 5.0.0i ,
I have upgraded PHP Version to 5.3.0
MySQL version to 4.1.22 Community-nt
Changes done to php.ini file are as follows
I have set the post_max_size to more than 20MB ie, I set it to 40 MB
set the upload_max_filesize settings to more than 20MB ie, I set it to 40 MB
set max_input_time to a large number- 3600
I have increased the Maximum upload size value to 30000 in the advanced settings of the admin module in sugar crm


So after doing this i have downloaded the SugarCE-Upgrade-4.5.1-to-5.0.0i file from Sugar CRM website and started upgradation using upgrade wizard. But when i go to the third step of the process ie, when i upload the upgrade zip file its taking some time and immediately displays a blank page or sometimes its going to the index page.
Can anybody please sort my problem.

Boost the settings in your php.ini ... sugar needs a lot of headroom.

Can you please tell me how can i boost the php.ini fille and what are the things i need to change in it and can you please let me know in What does your statement 'Sugar needs a lot of head room' mean ?

Also, please note that PHP 5.3 is not officially supported.

Hi,

I have done all that you have said but when i upload the sugar patch for SugarCE 4.5.1 to 5.0.1a in the upgrade wizard it asked me for the conversion of license, I have accepted the license and Preflight check Progress has started and all of a sudden i got a blank page and upon refreshing i get the index page. Any suggestions why this is happening..?

Did you reboot your server after changing php.ini?

Yes i have restarted my Webserver(IIS 6).

Try this...

Download the full installation package for 5.2 and unzip it to a different directory from the one you are trying to upgrade. For the purposes of our example, lets assume you unzipped that to http://www.yourdomain.com/sugartest

Now, browse http://www.yourdomain.com/sugartest and you'll notice that the Installation Wizard will appear.

Click Next on the first page, then I Accept and Next. The wizard will perform a system check at that point. This is usually helpful in determining what other PHP settings are not correct as all the problem areas are presented in the page that follows the clicking of the Next button.

That should give you some direction on what needs to be adjusted for your upgrade. Once you've corrected the system settings, you can delete the /sugartest folder as it is no longer necessary.

Hi Angel,

Thank you very much for the reply and I have done the same as you said and I got the error page saying
Minimum Php version required is 5.1.0. Recommended Php version is 5.2.x. I am also attaching the screen shot of that page. So is there a real problem with PHP because am using PHP5.3 ?
