Sugarcrm 5.5.0 CE

I have hosted a Sugar with a hosting provider. I find that the speed is extremely slow and the system is virtually unusable.

I found that my cache is more than 300 MB.

Is the speed drop related to the size of the cache ?

In what ways can I improve the speed of Sugar ?

Please help.
