Cache not beeing updated! Help

Help! i'm in 5.2 and Everytime i do changes in the var defs it doesn't change on the cache!
i checked sugar crm file and it's like this:

-rw-rw---- 1 nobody 4294967295 17585 2009-07-17 11:19 cache/modules/Cases/Casevardefs.php

I set it to nobody no group and 777. but when i do repair an rebuild it turns bac k to the same thing and doesnt save anything!
