Calendar Publish Key Question

Under My Account I can set a Key which should prevent unauthorized publishing of my Calendar.

what is meant by this? I tought it would prevent other people from viewing my Calendar from within Sugar CRM, but apparently people are still able to view it.

Can someone explain what this feature is supposed to do?

The publishing feature allows users of other applications that support the iCalendar standar to look at your Sugar calendar without themselves being Sugar users.

For example, if someone in your office uses Outlook and they want to see your calendar without having to go into Sugar, they could do it via the publishing feature. The key is a safeguard to restrict who can do it, it has nothing to do with who can see what within Sugar.

For the latter, you need to take a look at the use of Roles.
