Calender Problem

I implemented calender in one module of my sugar site. The default format of the calender is like (mm-dd-yyyy). But i wan to change the format like (d-m-Y). How can I do this. I have to insert the value in database in this format also.
Plz Plz help me.

Hi, atin.

Did you create a custom field?
When you create a date custom field and inset this on in layouts the sugar automatically set the calendar for this custom field according to user date format.
