Calls/Meetings: 'Add Invitees' search does nothing

I'm running SugarCRM 5.2k CE on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS / Apache 2 / Php 5.2.

Problem with the Calls / Meetings Module:

I'm trying to add a user as an attendee to a meeting or call. In edit Call / Meeting mode when trying to find / select users, performing a search (to invite attendees) to the call of meeting does nothing.

I've tried searches (under the Add Invitees search bar) with some / none / all fields filled in with valid and invalid data. Clicking the search button does nothing, no actions/events/updates are triggered.

I've also tried this multiple browsers just in case it was a client side / javascript issue.

Any suggestions?

Colin ... I've never experienced an issue with this is 5.2k ... just in case it's a usage issue:

If you have a user call "Ronaldo Anderson"

Schedule the meeting ... goto full form so you get the add invites bar

In the First Name text box ... enter "ronal" ... then hit search ... search will produce all leads, users, contacts etc with a first name beginning with "ronal"

Does this not work for you?

No it's not a usage issue

I did fix the problem (literally 5 mins ago).

The problem occurred when I moved an instance of SugarCRM from one server to another (I had to change some things in the config, database settings, etc).

Interestingly this search feature was the only thing I discovered that didn't work. I went back and checked the old instance, and the search worked fine.

The solution: Reinstall SugarCRM 5.2k from scratch and stop screwing around with moving running instances.

It all works now

Hi, we`ve got exact the same issue as colinm. We also migrated from one server to another, and aren`t able to invite anything by searching. The search function doesn`t react in any form, as described by him.

The problem is, after testing sugar a year, we combined the database with our customized access via odbc and don`t don`t want to lose our modifications.

The search button downs`t react, so we do not know where to search ...

Is anybody more involved bby this problem???

I am also having this problem - and I am on 5.5!

OS: Mac OSX 10.5
SugarCRM Version 5.5.0 (Build 6653)
Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.7l DAV/2 PHP/5.3.0
MySQL Server version: 5.1.42

Can't seem to find the issue - bumped back up for (hopefully) more help!

I had this problem, too, and resolved it by downloading a fresh SugarCE-5.5.1.zip installation archive, grabbing json_server.php from it (it gets put in the base directory), and overwriting the one that I had in my production copy with that one (making a backup of the one I had, first, just in case that wasn't it). The two versions were slightly different, so I'm guessing that that file didn't get upgraded when I moved from 5.2.0k to 5.5.0.

Also, if you're running PHP 5.3.x, you may need to edit the file and comment out the error_reporting(E_ALL ^ E_NOTICE); line, or manipulate it to also ignore E_DEPRECATED.

if you edit some .php files with windows wordpad / notepad, you will get this error.

For example, if the file custom/include/language/zh_cn.php was edited by wordpad, 'utf－8 bom' would be added to this file. It destroyed the zh_cn.php file.

Solve this problem by editing zh_cn.php with UtraEdit, and Save as 'UTF-8 without BOM'.
