Calls/Meetings parent field readonly

Hi, I'm trying to set the parent field as readonly when the user creates a new Call/Meeting, but if I set through the code 'type' => 'readonly', the value is presented correctly, but when I save the record the parent relationship is not there, I mean, the parent ID is null in sugar DB.

Is there any way I can define this field as readonly ?
