    Unhappy campaign email not working

    good afternoon

    I user sugar 5.2a profesional.
    windows iis 6 and mysql.

    I can send emails out of sugar but i cannot send mails from campaigns?
    it is stuck in the email queue. i press on send queued email accounts but nothing happens

    Please help

    Hi Paul,

    there are a few components necessary to make a campaign work:

    1) In the email marketing subpanel of your campaign, there is a fields called 'Start Date & Time'. This start date and time determines when you want your campaign emails to send out. If you want your emails to go out right away, you can back date this field. If you want it to send out Friday at 1:00 PM, you can set it to that date and time.

    2) Status: the status field in the Email Marketing subpanel must be set at active

    3) Send Emails: When you have finished setting up your campaign, you must click the 'Send Emails' button. This sends all the emails into the Email Queue area (this can be viewed in the admin area). The emails sit here until the Start date and time from #1 passes AND

    4)Scheduler: the date and time the emails are sent out are based on the date and time in #1 and how often the scheduler job runs. You must set up the cron job on your server for the scheduler to be able to run. Once this is done, you can modify the frequency of when the Campaign scheduler runs: Run Nightly Mass Email Campaigns. The system default for this item is On the hour; From 02:00 to 06:00. What this means is that, even if your start date and time from #1 is set for today at 3:00PM, the emails will still sit in the queue until 2:00 AM this morning. Make sense? You can change the default to expand the time period, or set it to 'As often as possible' -- if you do this, then the emails will go out at the time set in #1.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I do understand the whole shebang.

    but what is happening now is even my test mails get stuck in email queue.
    does not get out at all.. ebery time i click on send queues mails the screen refreshes and then nothing. the que has not changed.

    but i can send mails via compose a mail?

    please help

    Is your installation under windows?
    Then you must setup the windows scheduler to run the cron-job shown at the end of the schudulers list-view.

    How do you want to force it?
    The scheduler must run every minute to control its workflows.
    This can only be done by a windows schedule.

    You can trigger the scheduler manually, by accessing this URL http://<Site URL>/cron.php in your browser.
    The permanent solution would be creating a Scheduled Task as said by Kuske.

    Okay, so I followed all the steps above, and duplicated the marketing message in case it was a duplicate. All I am trying to do right now is send to a test group to evaluate the system and email before sending it out to about 4000 recipients.

    I changed the nightly send mass email scheduled job that comes with sugar by default (community edition) to run every 5 minutes. When I look at the scheduler it shows me it has run every 5 minutes. I even created a new scheduler job to run every 1 minute and it has been running now for an hour.

    I have two test messages sitting in queue refusing to budge...

    I have reset the email settings from sendmail to smtp back to sendmail.

    The darn thing just will not send email out. Yet, when I assigned a new contact or lead, sure enough, the email is right there in my inbox.

    What am I missing here?

    fixed, turns out a developer had put in debug statements in an earlier project that were impeding the send.

    Hi,

    I am able to send campaign emails by clicking on "Send test" button on Campaign Wizard page.
    But when i run the cron.php file no mails are send out.


    Please tell me what are the things that happen when cron.php is executed.
