    Default Campaign Emails Not Sending On Schedule

    (Apologies if some of this doesn't make much sense. The former Sugar admin quit unexpectedly and I was forced to take over with 0 experience because I'm the only one with any Linux experience in the office)

    I am using Sugar Open Source 4.5.1c, and have a campaign email with approx. 8000 recipients. In Email Settings, Mail Transfer Agent is set to SMTP, and has the correct login info for our SMTP server. When I attempt to run the campaign, it just puts the messages in the Outbound queue. If I press Send Outbound Messages, it starts processing them in batches of 200. The SMTP server however doesn't show that it is sending any messages. On the server Sugar is running on, it starts spawning several dozen PHP processes that eat up 100% CPU on all 4 cores of a dual core dual Xeon system.

    Originally, this process ran 3 times a week (Mon, Wed, Fri). It stopped working about 3 weeks ago. The only thing I can find in SugarCRM around that timeframe is this error:

    Wed Oct 10 11:03:11 2007,515 [10953] FATAL SugarCRM - SCHEDULERS: could not get an IMAP connection resource for ID [ 9a93ba6d-8bec-a3bd-8977-45709c6ab924 ]. Skipping mailbox [ personal.admin ].

    Which has been coming up once every minute since Sep 24.

    Check the campaign and see which mailbox is being used to send the outbound emails. It may or may not be the email address found in Admin->Email Settings. It may be one of the email addresses listed under Admin->InboundEmail.

    Check to make sure that the outbound email settings you're using with the campaign work with a regular mail client like outook or thunderbird.

    If the settings don't work in a regular email client, then you need to check your server to make sure that username's email account is still active/valid.

    Post again if you still run into issues after checking the above.

    I think fixing the email account settings took care of the problem with the messages not sending. Thanks!

    I am still having an issue with the messages sending out on a schedule though. Is there someplace in the campaign settings I can set 'Send this campaign every Monday at 7am'? All I can see is a Start Date and an End Date.

    Go to Admin->Schedulers.

    Click on "Run-Mass Email Campaigns"

    Under the "job" field, click on "Advanced Options"

    In the Advanced Options panel that appears, select your "Active From / Active To" times.

    Set your Active From time to 7:00 a.m. Experiment with what your Active To time will be. I don't know how many emails you're sending, or how big the batch is, so give it enough time to send them out.

    good luck.
