I am going to lead with this statement...

We are currently SalesForce users and will be switching to Sugar soon. We like SF, but it is cost prohibitive. In turn we are trying to come as close as possible to what we currently have, but via Sugar.

SalesForce's campaign functionality is very similar to that of Sugar's. That is, you create a campaign, add contacts or leads to it, and then execute the campaign to those people associated with it.

What is different, or at least appears to be different to me, is the way statuses are managed. Sugar's campaign status seem to be always be relevant to e-mail marketing (message sent, bounced, click through, etc), regardless of the campaign type.

My questions are...

1) Can the statuses be modified to be relevant to different types of campaigns?
2) Are these statuses just an aggregate, or does each contact/lead have their own individual status?
3) Has anyone done an integration with an e-mail system like Verticle Response, Got Campaigner Pro, Exact Target, etc so that opens, click throughs, etc are dynamically updated based on the e-mail systems analytics (systems like this have better tracking than Sugar does due to tracking pixels, tracking scripts, and so on).

Thanks in advance for any responses here
