    Default campaign scheduler emails

    hi there

    ive set up my schedule to run the nightly email campaign task on cron every minute, as i wanted to be able to send campaigns out whenever, not just have them sent out once during the night.

    had a campaign email marketing set to send out at a specified time to over 4000 targets. it started to email but only sent to a handful of the targets. in the job scheduler the nightly mass email campaign job's status is now in progress, and the job hasnt been re executed since the time the email marketing was set to go out, which was over 30 mins ago. has it got stuck?

    if i goto admin and manage email queue i can see a number of emails that say send attempts 1 and in process 1.

    all set to send on the time that is now over 30mins ago.

    can anyone decipher what ive just said
    and offer some advice on what might be going on?

    Have a look in sugar.log and see if there are any errors relating to the campaign

    Did any emails go out?

    so far 635 of the 4000 odd emails have been sent. they seem to be going out as 40 have been viewed, 1 has opted out, etc.

    top of the log shows some failures today, 11:15 is when i scheduled the email to go out:

    every now and again it throws up the address cannot be used:

    hello vaineh,

    what is the number that you have set in Admin-->Manage Campaign Email Settings for the field called 'Number of emails sent per batch:'?

    The default here is 500. If you are sending a batch of 500 emails every 1 minute, it could be that your email server is not equipped to handle this or has a limit set on it for the number of emails to process xx amount of time. If you reach this limit, then it will freeze and no longer send out emails.

    hi

    the setting is at default, 500.

    so with that set at 500, and the standard schedule which is to run at 0200 on the hour till 0600, presumably means it will send out 2500 emails a night?

    think i might change my settings to send out 500 every hour.

    I had a similar problem and my host who handled my email had a per hour limit.
